Five Ravens who excelled in second preseason game against Falcons

BALTIMORE — The Ravens put together a solid performance in the second preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Baltimore received stellar contributions from several players in the 13-12 victory.

Here are five players who stood out:

Quarterback Josh Johnson: The 38-year-old veteran has received his share of criticism this summer. After struggling last week against the Eagles, Johnson had a strong game and completed 11 of 11 passes for 120 yards with a touchdown in a 13-12 victory. He finished with a 142.4 passer rating. Coach John Harbaugh has been steadfast in his support for Johnson and he was justified Saturday.

Wide receiver Dayton Wade: The undrafted rookie from Mississippi is a long shot to make the 53-man roster, but he’s put himself in position to make the practice squad and become part of the Ravens’ long-term plans. Wade led the wide receivers with two receptions for 67 yards, including a 56-yard touchdown when he torched a cornerback with a double-move. Wade has also shined in practice.

Outside linebacker Tavius Robinson: The third-year player from Ole Miss had the biggest defensive stop of the game when he tackled running back Jase McClellan on an attempted 2-point conversion to preserve the win in the closing seconds. At 6 feet 6, 262 pounds, Robinson is a force for the defense. Coaches have lauded his work effort this offseason.

Outside linebacker David Ojabo: The former second-round pick from Michigan made his preseason debut after having knee surgery last year. Ojabo was a factor throughout the game and had a key quarterback hit. He was also disruptive and created matchup problems for the Falcons’ offensive lineman. It was an encouraging performance, and the Ravens are expecting Ojabo to be an impact player this season.

Outside linebacker Adisa Isaac: The rookie third-round pick from Penn State also made his debut after dealing with a hamstring injury. Isaac finished with four tackles and did a solid job controlling the Falcons’ running game and putting pressure on the quarterback. The Ravens are hoping Isaac can be part of the rotation at linebacker this season, and he got off to a good start.
