OWINGS MILLS — Ravens Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum was back at practice on Monday for the first time in nearly a month.
Linderbaum, who is dealing with a neck injury, was wearing a red jersey, which means he was limited to non-contact portions of practice.Linderbaum’s return is a good sign for the Ravens, who open the regular season on September 5th against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Linderbaum had not practiced since August 2nd.
“I thought he looked good out there,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. “It’s good to see Tyler Linderbaum out there at practice. I’m pleased with that.”
Last season, Linderbaum started 15 games, playing a key role for the Ravens’ No. 1 rushing offense (156.6 yards per game) and No. 4 scoring offense (28.4 points per game). He earned his first career trip to the Pro Bowl.
In 2022, Linderbaum became the fourth rookie offensive lineman in Ravens’ history to start every game, joining Jonathan Ogden (1996), Michael Oher (2009), and Kelechi Osemele (2012). Linderbaum and left tackle Ronnie Stanley are the only returning starters on the offensive line from last year.
With Linderbaum sidelined, Pat Mekari, Ben Cleveland, and rookie Nick Samac have taken snaps at center. Samac was back on the field after being carted off the field with a lower-body injury in the final preseason game against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday.
