Lamar Jackson back at practice for Ravens; Van Noy criticizes Chiefs’ medical staff

OWINGS MILLS — Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was back at practice on Wednesday after missing the session two days earlier.

Jackson was able to participate in every drill during media viewing.

Last week against Kansas City, Jackson completed 26 of 41 passes for 273 yards with a touchdown and ran for 122 yards on 16 carries in the 27-20 loss. It was the fourth time he produced 250 yards passing yards and 100 yards rushing.

Jackson’s 122 rushing yards against the Chiefs were the most by a quarterback in Week 1 in NFL history, surpassing Michael Vick’s total of 103 rushing yards in the 2010 season.

However, Jackson was hit 13 of the 16 times he carried the ball. He reportedly missed practice on Monday because of general soreness.

Outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy was the only player who did not practice. Van Noy is sidelined with a fractured orbital bone that he suffered against the Chiefs.

Earlier this week, Van Noy was critical of the Chiefs’ medical staff for the way they reacted to treating the injury.

“I was disappointed in the way the training staff of the Chiefs handled the situation,” Van Noy said on his podcast, McCoy and Van Noy. “I was supposed to see an ophthalmologist … and they took an entire quarter to get down to talk to me in the locker room — which, to me, is unacceptable. The way it took time was super unprofessional to me.”

The Chiefs have not responded to the criticism.
