Ravens rule out one player for Week 5 game against Bengals

OWINGS MILLS — Ravens cornerback Arthur Maulet, who returned to practice this week from injured reserve, was the only player ruled out for the Week 5 game against the Bengals on Sunday.

Maulet is a key member of the secondary who was placed on IR during training camp with a knee injury.

“He had a soft-tissue setback, so he won’t make it to this game this week, but he’ll be day-to-day probably going forward next week,” coach John Harbaugh said Friday. “We’ll just have to see.”

Three other players were listed as questionable — running back Rasheen Ali (neck), wide receiver/returner Deonte Harty (knee), and guard Andrew Vorhees (ankle).

If Vorhees can’t play, the Ravens can keep Patrick Mekari at left guard and rookie Roger Rosengarten at right tackle.

“As we go forward, we’ll see how Andrew’s ankle is and all that, but Patrick can continue to do it, and he’s only going to get better if he gets more reps [at left guard],” Harbaugh said. “Obviously, Roger is a guy that’s been coming on. He’s a high draft pick; he’s a guy that we have a lot of expectations for, and he didn’t do anything in that game to dampen that down at all.

“I think you just kind of take it as comes every single week, and you try to put the best group out there that you can, and the next best guy that’s playing and have everybody ready, so when the need arises, you can put a player in there that can help you win.”

The Bengals have not ruled out any players. Defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins (hamstring) was listed as doubtful. In addition, cornerback Mike Hilton (knee), defensive tackle McKinnley Jackson (knee), and defensive end Myles Murphy (knee) are questionable.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was a full participant in practice all week despite a right wrist injury.
