Ravens like new-look offensive line

OWINGS MILLS — Ravens coach John Harbaugh had to tweak the offensive line because left guard Andrew Vorhees was out the past two games with a knee injury.

The Ravens moved Patrick Mekari from right tackle to Vorhees’ spot at left guard. Rookie second-round pick Roger Rosengarten took over the starting job at right tackle. The rest of the offensive line stayed the same with left tackle Ronnie Stanley, center Tyler Linderbaum, and right guard Daniel Faalele.

Harbaugh likes the way this group has performed and could move forward with this starting lineup against the Washington Commanders on Sunday.

“If we’re doing well, we’re probably going to try to keep that momentum going, with the addition and the opportunity to put guys in when and where we might be able to, and we’re probably a little more open to that than a lot of teams, even still,” Harbaugh said. “But I think the offensive line is doing a good job. We’ll just have to see where we’re at through the week.”

The pass protection has been mostly solid and Jackson has been sacked twice in the past two games. He has also thrown for six touchdowns with no interceptions. The Ravens ran for 271 yards against the Buffalo Bills in Week 4 and had 175 yards rushing last week against the Bengals. They also won both games.

Vorhees may be healthy enough to play against the Commanders, At this point, he could provide valuable depth as he works his way back into the rotation.

“Andrew will come back, maybe this week,” Harbaugh said. “Three weeks with a high-ankle [sprain] is about right, and gosh, you can’t believe how hard he’s working at it. It’s amazing how tough he is. So, it will be good to have him back, but an object in motion tends to stay in motion.”
