OWINGS MILLS — The Ravens continued to make history in their 41-31 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night.
Baltimore became the fourth team since 1980, along with the 1984 Bears, 2006 Falcons and 2019 Ravens, to reach 1,400 rushing yards through seven games.
“It takes all 11 guys,” running back Derrick Henry said. “[The] offensive line is doing a hell of a job; I mean a hell of a job. All the credit goes to them. Receivers are blocking; tight ends; Pat Ricard being the beast [and] the juggernaut and making my job easier. … It takes all of us – we [are] all tied in together to have success and thank God – hopefully, it keeps. I hope it keeps going.”
Henry is the second player in NFL history along with Eric Dickerson with the Rams in 1983 to have at least 800 yards rushing and 10 total touchdowns in his first seven games with a franchise.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson had his 29th game with at least 200 passing yards and 50 rushing yards, surpassing Cam Newton for the most in NFL history. Jackson owns a 23-1 record in non-conference starts, ranking No. 1 among quarterbacks in NFL history.
Jackson also improved to 6-2 on Monday Night Football, including 5-1 on the road.
“He is just the ultimate competitor,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said about Jackson. “There is no question about it. I don’t know if I’ve seen a better competitor than Lamar Jackson, and I’ve seen some competitors – some great competitors – but he is [at] that level with the greatest competitors I’ve ever seen. [He] may be the greatest. We’ll see. It’s just amazing.”
Cornerback Marlon Humphrey had a career-high two interceptions, with the first one changing the momentum in the Monday night game. He also became the first NFL player in 2024 to record two or more interceptions in the same quarter of a game.
He leads the NFL with four interceptions. However, Humphrey suffered a knee injury, and his status for next week’s game against the Cleveland Browns is uncertain.
“I’m super happy for Marlon,” safety Kyle Hamilton said. “It’s no surprise; he’s been one of the best in this league for a long time. He has been making some big plays lately. That’s just what he does. It’s dope to see him do what he does and lead us back there in terms of making plays. It’s up to us and everybody else to start doing the same.”
