Lamar Jackson not in playful mood with the way Ravens are playing

OWINGS MILLS — A video surfaced of Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey in a celebratory mood filming players on the plane from Dallas.

The Ravens earned a 28-25 victory, but only after squandering a 22-point fourth-quarter lead.

Jackson was not happy about the way the fourth quarter unfolded and did not want to be on camera.

“We got the [win], we gonna keep stacking them,” Jackson told him. “You shouldn’t even be on live right now.”

The two players had another exchange about Humphrey dropping an interception.

There’s another side to Jackson the public does not often see. He is ultra-competitive and his main focus has been winning a Super Bowl since the Ravens selected him in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft.

After the team finished its first practice in preparation for Sunday night’s game against the undefeated Buffalo Bills, Jackson said there was no animosity with Humphrey.

However, Jackson wants the team to stay focused and not joke when they don’t play well … even if they win.

“Marlo’ is going to be ‘Marlo.’ I just didn’t want the camera on me at the time,” Jackson said. “He knows this, I’m all about winning. I don’t want to say winning style, but when we’re up, I just want to punish people. I just want to get out of there with a dub – clear-minded. We have things to work on. There are always going to be things to work on, no matter if you beat a team 40 to nothing or 28-26, but I didn’t want the camera on me.

“That’s my brother – I know he’s going to do what he does, but it’s like, ‘Not right now. I’m a little ticked off on how the game went.’ That’s all.”

Jackson has completed 59 of 90 pass attempts for 702 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. He has also run for 254 yards with a touchdown on 35 carries.

However, Jackson is 1-2 all-time against the Bills, who have been able to contain him with their pressure. He’s expecting another tough match.

“Those guys [are doing] what I’ve always seen, [they’re] flying around, [they have] a great secondary, a great front, great ’backers,” Jackson said about the Bills’ defense. “They just play smashmouth football. That’s what I do see on film.”
