Report: Ravens lose another coach as Keith Williams joins Saints

OWINGS MILLS — The Ravens’ coaching exodus continued as assistant wide receivers coach Keith Williams was hired by the New Orleans Saints as their primary wide receivers coach, according to Nick Underhill of neworleans.football.

Williams was credited with helping the Ravens’ young wide receivers develop into productive players for the past three seasons. Williams spent the first two years as a pass game specialist and moved to an assistant wide receivers coach role for 2023.

In New Orleans, Williams will work with new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who is in the process of revamping the entire offensive staff. Williams replaces Kodi Burns, who was fired at the end of this past season.

Williams served as the wide receivers coach for the San Antonio Commanders of the Alliance of American Football in 2019 and spent 2008 in a minority coaching internship program with the then-San Diego Chargers. Williams has also coached collegiately at Nebraska, Tulane, and Fresno State.

In addition, former Ravens linebacker Josh Bynes was hired as assistant linebacker coach with the Seahawks, according to Aaron Wilson of KPCR. Former Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald was hired as the head coach in Seattle this offseason.

Bynes officially retired as a member of the Ravens organization in December. He spent six overall seasons with the Ravens in 2011-2013, 2019, and 2021-2022. He also played for the Detroit Lions (2014–2016), Arizona Cardinals (2017–2018), Cincinnati Bengals (2020) and Carolina Panthers (2021).

Bynes played in 138 games, finishing with 582 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and five interceptions.

“Past the football stuff, which you have to do, you have to produce, but [it was in] the locker room, the mentorship, the example that he sets for the guys by the type of a family man he is and the father and husband that he is,” coach John Harbaugh said about Bynes at the retirement ceremony. “I think guys look at that, and it makes a difference. I know he’s been there for guys just to talk to them and make a difference in their lives. That’s what a Hall of Famer is to me.”
