OWINGS MILLS — The Ravens are a must-watch TV for the NFL.
The Ravens have five prime-time games during the 2o24 season, including a Christmas game at Houston at 4:30 p.m. The Ravens beat the Texans, 25-9, in the 2023 regular-season opener and emerged with a 34-10 victory in the divisional round of the playoffs.
The Ravens also became the first NFL team to play back-to-back road games on Christmas. Last year, the Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers, 33-19, in prime time.
“The NFL on Christmas has become a tradition and to partner with Netflix, a service whose biggest day of the year is typically this holiday, is the perfect combination to grow this event globally for NFL fans,” said Hans Schroeder, NFL executive vice president of media distribution.
In a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship Game, the Ravens will travel to Arrowhead Stadium to play the Chiefs in the 2024 NFL regular-season opener on Thursday, September 5th at 8:20 p.m.
The game features two of the league’s most dynamic quarterbacks with the Ravens’ two-time MVP Lamar Jackson and the Chiefs’ three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs defeated the Ravens, 17-10, in the 2023-24 AFC title game en route to their second consecutive Super Bowl championship and third in five years.
The Ravens’ other prime-time games:
- Sunday, September 29th: Buffalo Bills
- Monday, October 29th: at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Thursday, November 7th: Cincinnati Bengals
The Ravens have the second-most difficult schedule based on opponents’ combined records/win percentage from the 2023 season. The Ravens play a league-high 10 games against teams that advanced to the playoffs and went a combined 155-134 last year.
The most challenging slate of games could be in the AFC North.
All four teams in the division — Ravens (13-4), Browns (11-6), Steelers (10-7), and Bengals (9-8) — finished above .500. It’s just the second time since the NFL began using divisions in 1933 that every team in a division finished above .500, joining the NFL West in 1935, according to Elias Sports Bureau.
In addition to the prime-time action, the Ravens play the Steelers at home on December 21st and away on November 17th.
The Bengals should be competitive with the return of quarterback Joe Burrow. The Ravens and Bengals play at M&T Bank Stadium on November 7th and at Cincinnati on October 6th.
The Ravens play the Browns at home in Week 18 (time and date TBD) and on the road on October 27th.
