OWINGS MILLS — Running back Derrick Henry is eager to add a powerful dimension to the Ravens’ offense.

He’ll be doing it against teams that probably aren’t eager to see him in the same backfield as quarterback Lamar Jackson. Henry has a solid track record against the Ravens’ 2024 opponents, and it appears his downhill running style will be a perfect complement to Jackson’s elusiveness and play-action mastery.

“I think you always try to build the offense around the players that you have,” coach John Harbaugh said. “What Derrick [Henry] does really exceptionally well is going to be where we’re going to move towards, but we’re versatile. We can go in a lot of different directions.

“That’s what Lamar makes us, is versatile, and I also think what we’ve been doing along those lines fit this guy [Henry] really well. It’s not just his specific talents, because he can run out of any kind of backfield.”
